The M-11 ‘Neva’ toll motorway has finally become continuous. The last unfinished section was the Tver bypass, which was opened on 16 July
The M-11 Neva motorway stretches from the Moscow Ring Road (Moscow) to the Ring Road (St. Petersburg) and is a doublet of the M10 Rossiya motorway. The total length of the M-11 motorway is 684 km. Several sections of the motorway were opened in 2014 (15-58 km, 258-334 km), in 2017 (208-258 km), in 2018 (334 - 543, 58-97 km), and in 2019 (97-149 km, 543-646 km, 646-684 km).
The last section of 149-174 km - the Tver bypass - was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 16 July. Thus, the motorway became continuous. Now, as specified in the press service of ‘Avtodor’, the entire route from Moscow to St. Petersburg can be overcome on a comfortable high-speed road without a single traffic light, and the journey time has been reduced by 30-50 minutes.
The permitted speed on the motorway is 110-130 km/h. The number of traffic lanes is from 4 to 10 depending on the section of the motorway.
The length of the Tver Northern Bypass is just over 62 kilometres. It is a section of road of the highest technical category with four lanes, separated by traffic flows and lighting throughout. The permitted traffic speed on the bypass is 130 kilometres per hour. Two multifunctional road service zones are under construction on the new road, each of which will have an area of about 1,500 m2. There you can not only refuel your car, but also have a rest, have lunch in a cafe, buy everything you need, walk your pet, stretch in the sports zone and even take your child to the playground.

Cost of travelling along the M-11 motorway
The cost of travelling along the new motorway bypass of Tver will be 540 rubles for cars. For lorries the tariff will be 970 rubles.
The cost of travelling along the entire M-11 motorway (Avtodor sections excluding the 15-58th km in the Moscow region) will be 3.23 thousand rubles on Monday-Thursday for cars. On Friday-Sunday the amount will be already 3.45 thousand rubles. For trucks, the cost of travel respectively reaches 6.63 thousand rubles and 7.45 thousand rubles.
The state company reminded that there are subscriptions, which will save up to 30% for travelling along the section.
There is a closed toll collection system on M-11 ‘Neva’. It means that motorists pay only for the number of kilometres travelled. For this purpose, at the beginning of the journey, the driver registers in the system at the entrance toll booth. If there is a transponder in the car, this is done automatically, if not, a ticket must be taken from the machine in the carriageway. Payment is made ex post facto by bank card, cash or transponder at the exit toll booth.
